APV keeps innovating! A popular request from dairy farmers is a light-weight pasture maintenance implement that combines a tined harrow, air seeder and roller that allows the harrow and roller to be separated. APV has delivered!

The GK Combination Harrow consists of a two-row harrow with a levelling board and a roller. Your advantage with APV: the harrow and roller can be used combined at the rear. However, you can also use the two implements separately at the front and rear using the front mounting accessory. The trailing roller convinces separately too, for example for applications in arable farming.

The Combination Harrow is available in three working widths 8.2 ft, 9.8 ft and 13,5 ft (2.5 m, 3 m and 4 m) and with 3 different roller types (Cambridge roller Ø 15.4 ft (390 mm), Cambridge roller Ø 20.9 ft (530 mm), and toothed ring roller Ø 16.1 ft (410 mm)). The benefits of simultaneous re-seeding of grass using APV seeders together with grassland cultivation implements have also been demonstrated first hand (Pneumatic Seeders and Multi-Metering Systems).

Successful grassland management forms the basis for good forage quality and high yields. The GK 400 M1 grassland combination harrow expands the product range with a working width of 4 meters. The GK 400 M1 is particularly suitable for larger areas and for use across farms.

This machine, which impresses with its compact and lightweight design, completes up to 5 work steps in a single pass, thus saving time and money. The machine consists of 2 harrow rows with leveling plate and a following roller. Harrow and roller can be used in combination.

Harrow rows

The harrow has 2 rows with cranked 0.5 in / 12mm or 0.4 in / 10mm (optional) tines.
Cranked tines create an elliptical movement on the soil. The steeper the position of the tines, the smaller the motion. The flatter the position of the tines, the larger the motion.
In addition to the depth, the aggressiveness of the tines relative to one another on the GK series can also be changed. To do so, you only have to insert the pins for the harrow gangs as desired in a hole more to the front or the rear.
The crank for the levelling plate can be used to turn the harrow gangs more easily.

Levelling plate

Due to the height-adjustable spring-mounted levelling plate, rough unevenness in the grassland is eliminated and the tines are not stressed unnecessarily.
The height is adjusted using two bolts (one on the left and one on the right) in the pattern of holes.
To make adjustment easier, a crank is included as a standard. After removing the pins, this crank is used to easily raise and lower the levelling plate by means of gear teeth.

Adjusting of the roller

The roller is adjusted by extending or retracting the hydraulic cylinder. If it is completely retracted, the roller is lifted off of the ground and the total weight of the roller is shifted onto the tines. The contact pressure of the harrow gangs in increased and the soil is worked more intensively. When the cylinder is extended, the tine pressure is reduced, for lighter harrowing.

Mounting of PS / MD on GK-Series

Our Combination Harrow GK 250 M1 or GK 300 M1 can be combined with the Pneumatic Seeders PS 120 M1 - PS 300 M1 (with electric or hydraulic fan) and with the Multi-Metering System MDP 100 M1.
For mounting on the GK, the PS / MD can be fastened in two different positions (on the roller or harrow) together with the counter plate. The preliminary setup equipment for mounting the Pneumatic Seeder is included in the Full Edition.
The dispersion plates are fastened on a hollow profile at equal distances relative to each other.
The dispersion plates are mounted on the roller as standard, however, the hollow profile for mounting the dispersion plates can also be installed on the harrow.

Sensor Set

For the automatic adjustment of the meter roll speed to the actual forward speed, a sensor set is available (included with the Full Edition).
For the automatic stopping and starting of the meter roll, we offer the tractor linkage upper bar sensor with the Full Edition, which is installed on one of the two top link holes on the GK.

Access platform

For safe filling of the hopper of the Pneumatic Seeders, there are suitable access platforms for both installation positions (included with the Full Edition).

Front mounting

The front mounting equipment for the harrow is available as an accessory. The top link rocker and the guide wheels can be installed without tools using pins.
Front mounting offers the option of adjusting the contact pressure of the tines while driving using the hydraulic cylinder. (The roller cylinder, which is not in use when the implement is divided, can be used here.)

Divided and combined operation

On steep terrain or with smaller tractors, there is the option of dividing the implement.
All of the working tools can be used individually or in different combinations. Can be divided into a front-mounted or rear-mounted implement.
