Territory Manager, Farm Equipment - Seeders, Spreaders, Harrows

Travel: Work requires 50-75% travel to meetings, site visits, and trade shows

Position Summary 

APV America is seeking a Territory Manager for the Lower Midwest, Upper-Central South. As a Territory Manager, you will be responsible for promoting APV America’s products as a professional sales representative to all assigned existing and prospective accounts. In this role, you will develop and maintain productive working relationships with distributors/dealers and ensure customers are well satisfied with the products and services. You will share recommendations to management regarding product development, pricing, and sales projections. 

Applicant Can be Based at Home in Either - 1) Missouri, 2) Southern Illinois, 3) Southern Indiana, 4) Kentucky, 5) Tennessee, or 6) Northern Arkansas 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Including, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Build and maximize the effectiveness of independent distributor/dealer networks in the precision farming, seeding, and agriculture 
  • If possible, bring an already well-established professional network of contacts in the ag machinery and equipment industry, i.e. distributor/dealer networks 
  • Achieve reasonable but aggressive sales results 
  • Understand the general market conditions, target customers, and competitive landscape 
  • Develop territory, market penetration, and sales execution strategies to consistently exceed goals 
  • Principal relationship manager for distributors 
  • Assist distributors and dealers with effective training, product awareness, and field assistance 
  • Ensure that effective two-way communication channels are open to provide feedback from distributors and dealers to capture the requirements of end-users 
  • Liaise with product management on product development programs and to ensure that all commercial requirements are met 
  • Provide application support, product selection advice, and assistance in troubleshooting products and installations
  • Research competitor activity, including product ranges, pricing, market share, promotion and changes to distribution channels 
  • Research and understand the agricultural market to identify trends and potential new business opportunities 
  • Manage inventory 
  • Work requires 50-75% travel to meetings, site visits, and trade shows around the country 
  • Report directly to the US General Manager of Sales and Operations on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis 
  • Work in concert with the APV America team in both Colorado, and the parent company in Austria, on all marketing, sales, operations, logistics, and administrative tasks as they occur, and are assigned, in a prompt and professional manner 

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) 

  • BS or BA in Agriculture or Business-related fields 
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills 
  • Strong interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to operate autonomously and drive results 
  • Ability to express, formulate, and present technical information or concepts with clarity and effectiveness
  • Valid US driver's license

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 3-5 years of farm equipment TM sales experience preferred 
  • Precision farm/seeding/agriculture technology knowledge
